Staffordshire Wado Ryu Karate-Do was founded by Chief Instructor Sensei Tony Harvey (4th Dan) in 1998.
We have classes for juniors and seniors across the age range and have almost 200 students training
regularly with us.
The martial art taught is a Japanese style of Karate called Wado Ryu - the English translation being 'way of peace school'. Wado Ryu is one of the original four styles of Karate registered in Japan.
Staffordshire Wado Ryu Karate is an affiliated member of the Aiwakai Karate Do Federation under the technical direction of Sensei Sakagami (8th Dan) and Sensei Peter May (7th Dan).
Through our affiliation with Aiwakai Karate Do Federation, Staffordshire Wado Ryu is a member of the English Karate Federation (EKF) which is the national governing body licensed by the
World Karate Federation (WKF).
